Remote Smart Park Assist

It’s April Fools’ Day, and what better way to surprise your friends and family than with a vehicle that seems to move all on its own? With the 2027 Kia Telluride’s Remote Smart Park Assist, you can remotely move your SUV forward and backward using just your key fob… no driver in the seat required.

While it might look like a prank, it’s actually one of the Telluride’s smartest features. Designed for both convenience and confidence, Remote Smart Park Assist allows you to control your vehicle’s movement, even while standing outside of it.

What is Remote Smart Park Assist?

Remote Smart Park Assist gives you the ability to move your Telluride forward or backward using just your smart key. If you’re squeezing into a tight parking spot or pulling out of one, the system takes over steering, speed, and gear shifting, so you don’t have to.

How It Works

Using a combination of sensors and cameras, the Telluride can detect parking spaces and guide itself into position. Once activated, the system automatically controls steering, speed, and gear selection while you guide movement with your key fob.

Quick How-To: Using Remote Smart Park Assist

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to get started:

  1. Position the vehicle Pull up near your desired parking space and shift into Park.
  2. Activate the system Press and hold the Parking/View button inside the vehicle until prompted on the screen.
  3. Exit with the key Step out of the vehicle with your smart key and close all doors.
  4. Start remote operation Press and hold the Forward or Backward button on the smart key.
  5. Let the vehicle do the work The Telluride will steer, adjust speed, and shift gears automatically.
  6. Release to pause Let go of the button at any time to immediately stop movement.
  7. Finish the maneuver Once in position, the vehicle will shift to Park and engage the parking brake.

More Than Just Parking

This system includes multiple intelligent features designed for real-world convenience:

  • Remote Operation – Move the vehicle straight forward or backward from outside
  • Smart Parking – Hands-on assisted parking while you’re inside
  • Remote Smart Parking – Fully automated parking from outside the vehicle
  • Smart Exit – Helps guide the vehicle out of tight spaces

Safety is at the core of Remote Smart Park Assist. The system continuously monitors surroundings and will pause or cancel if something changes, like detecting a pedestrian, losing key range, or sensing unstable conditions.
